Nets' Williams, Garnett won't play Monday vs Mavericks

NEW YORK (AP) The Brooklyn Nets say Deron Williams and Kevin Garnett will sit out their game Monday night against Dallas.

Williams hurt his left side late in the Nets' 88-84 loss in Miami on Sunday and was still sore Monday. The 38-year-old Garnett is resting on the second night of back-to-back games, as he has on other occasions this season.

Williams has been coming off the bench but played well Sunday before getting hurt and missing the final minutes, finishing with 13 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The Nets had listed the point guard as probable to play earlier Monday before Williams was ruled out.
