The Boston Celtics are trading point guard Jameer Nelson to the Denver Nuggets for guard Nate Robinson, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports. SI.com's Chris Mannix confirmed the deal.

Robinson isn't expected to remain in Boston long for his second stint with the Celtics. Instead, Spears reports Robinson is expected to get a buyout so that he can land with a contender, possibly the Los Angeles Clippers, who had discussed a deal with the Nuggets for the nine-year veteran, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo.

The Nuggets will not be sending any draft picks to the Celtics, according to Spears.

Nelson, 32, was traded to the Celtics from the Dallas Mavericks last month in the deal that sent Rajon Rondo to the Mavericks. In 29 games this season, Nelson is averaging 6.8 points and 4.4 assists in 24.3 minutes per game.

Robinson, 30, is averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 assists in 14.1 minutes per game. He played in 26 games for the Celtics in 2009-10 and 55 in 2010-11.
