Iman Shumpert is set to make his Cleveland Cavaliers debut Friday night against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Cavaliers acquired Shumpert in the six-player trade that sent guard Dion Waiters to the Oklahoma City Thunder and guard J.R. Smith to Cleveland.

Shumpert has not played since suffering a shoulder injury against the Boston Celtics in December.

Cavaliers beginning to show winning formula with revamped roster

Over 24 games with the New York Knicks this season, Shumpert has averaged 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists while posting a career-high 12.1 PER. The 24-year-old has drawn attention for his defensive intensity.

The Cavaliers have won four consecutive games to improve their record to 23-20, good for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Cavaliers coach David Blatt reportedly said that he expects to play Shumpert "a little bit" against the Hornets.
