Report: Hornets, Nets open Joe Johnson trade talks
The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets have once again begun trade talks, this time around Nets guard Joe Johnson, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Earlier this month, the two teams were linked in trade talks surrounding Nets center Brook Lopez and Hornets guard Lance Stephenson. Those talks fell apart when Brooklyn hesitated on adding Stephenson and sought a bigger haul for Lopez, according to Wojnarowski.
This time, the Hornets and Nets are discussing a "larger package" that would include Stephenson plus Hornets guard Gerald Henderson and forward Marvin Williams, as well as Johnson from the Nets.

Johnson reportedly intrigues Charlotte owner Michael Jordan. Johnson, 33, has struggled with tendonitis this season and is due to make $23.1 million this season and $24.9 million next season, the last on his current deal. He is averaging 15.5 points per game, down from his career average of 17.4, plus 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
The Nets would also reportedly like to move guard Deron Williams, but have been unable to find a market for him. The Nuggets remain interested in Lopez as well, according to Wojnarowski.
The Nets have lost eight of their last 10 games, dropping them to 18-26 and ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Hornets have won eight of their last 10, and are eighth in the East at 19-26.
