Thunder's Kevin Durant out with lingering toe injury

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will sit out Wednesday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, missing his fourth game in the past five with a sprained left big toe.

Durant is averaging 25 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists this season but has played in only 22 of the Thunder's 48 games. He sat out the first 17 games with a right foot fracture.

Coach Scott Brooks said the Thunder (24-24) will start guard Dion Waiters in place of Durant. Waiters started for Durant on Monday in Oklahoma City's 104-97 win over the Orlando Magic.
