Anthony Davis sustained a right shoulder contusion after taking a hard fall during the second quarter of the Pelicans' 107-72 home loss to the Bulls on Saturday. 

With the score tied at 30 midway through the seocnd quarter, Davis ran ahead of Chicago's defense to finish a fast break with an alley-oop dunk. As he finished the slam, Davis's hands slipped off the rim and he fell hard to the court. Davis landed with a thud, appearing to fall on his right shoulder, but he was able to get up under his own power and remain in the game. 

A few minutes later, Davis checked out and headed for the locker room rubbing his right shoulder. He did not return to the game, finishing with eight points and five rebounds in 13 minutes. 

Davis, 21, was selected by the fans as a starter for the Western Conference at the All-Star Game, set for next Sunday in New York City. It's unclear how long Davis will be sidelined. New Orleans will face Utah on Monday and Indiana on Wednesday before entering the week-long All-Star break.

The third-year forward entered Saturday's action averaging 24.9 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks, and he hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating three-pointer against the Thunder on Friday.

Chicago improved to 31-20. New Orleans fell to 27-24.
