ATLANTA (AP) A leaking roof at Philips Arena has caused a short delay in the first quarter of the game between the Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks.

The status of Wednesday night's game had been in doubt much of the day due to a winter storm that brought snow to north Georgia. There was only rain in Atlanta leading up to the game, and the water caused the leak with 3:21 remaining in the first quarter.

Play resumed following a delay of about 5 minutes.

In December in Brooklyn, a game between the Nets and Heat was delayed about 30 minutes because of water dripping onto the court. In 1986 in Seattle, a game between the SuperSonics and Phoenix Suns was called off because of rain leaking through the arena roof.
