Magic rookie Marble out 4 to 6 weeks with detached retina

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Orlando Magic rookie guard Devyn Marble is expected to miss four to six weeks because of a detached retina in his left eye.

Magic general manager Rob Hennigan made the announcement Wednesday. Orlando hosts Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Coach James Borrego said it's unclear when the injury occurred, but that Marble returned from his most recent stint with the D-League's Erie BayHawks on Feb. 21 complaining of blurriness in his eye. The retina injury was discovered during a visit to the doctor.

Wednesday marks the 17th game Marble has sat out due to injury. He has appeared in 16 games with the Magic this season, making seven starts, and is averaging 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds.

He also has appeared in six D-League games for Erie.
