Report: Hawks expected to sign Austin Daye for rest of season

The Atlanta Hawks are expected to sign forward Austin Daye for the remainder of the season, reports Mark Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Atlanta signed Daye to a second 10-day contract last month as forward Mike Scott continued to recover from a toe injury.

Prior to joining the Hawks, Daye played 26 games with the San Antonio Spurs this season. Over 31 total games in 2014-15, Daye has averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Daye has also had stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors and Detroit PistonsThe 26-year-old is in his sixth season in the league since being selected in the first round of the 2009 draft out of Gonzaga.

The Hawks (56-19) have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
