Celtics PG Marcus Smart dislocates fingers in Summer League game
Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart dislocated his right index and middle fingers during a Summer League game Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, the team announced.
With just under seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, Smart landed on his wrist following a tangle-up on a rebound attempt with teammate Jordan Mickey and Blazers forward Noah Vonleh. The Celtics announced the diagnosis after Smart left the court and said he would undergo X-rays and would not return to the game.
Smart, 21, is entering his second NBA season after the Celtics selected him with the sixth pick in the 2014 NBA draft out of Oklahoma State. In 67 games (38 starts) with Boston, Smart averaged 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists over 27 minutes.

Smart sprained his ankle in his fifth game last season and also missed time with a bone bruise. You can watch the play from Thursday here. As a warning, some might find it gruesome.
