Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Moses Malone passed away Sunday at the age of 60, the Philadelphia 76ers announced Sunday.

Malone, a 12-time All-Star, averaged 20.6 points per game and 12.2 rebounds while playing for eight teams during his 20-year career. Malone's rebounding prowess earned his the nickname "Chairman of the Boards."

The Sixers, with whom Malone played five seasons and was named the Finals MVP in 1983, also released a statement on Twitter. 

Malone's 16,212 rebounds and 27,409 career points rank fifth and eighth on the NBA's all-time list respectively. 

A three-time NBA MVP, Malone was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
