Celtics’ R.J. Hunter hits half-court shot, dad has flashbacks to college
It’s been 10 months since Celtics guard R.J. Hunter rose to stardom with his heroics for Georgia State in the NCAA tournament, but a shot he hit Monday night looked awfully familiar.
At the end of the first quarter against the Timberwolves, Hunter drained a shot from behind the halfcourt line.
Wait a second, where have we seen that before?

When Hunter hit an eerily similar shot to upset Baylor in the first round of last year’s NCAA tournament, his father, Georgia State head coach Ron Hunter—coaching from a stool after he tore his Achilles tendon celebrating the Panthers’ tournament berth—fell to ground in hysteria. He claimed to have suffered a similar fate on Monday.
Somebody get Ron a seatbelt.
