Joakim Noah suffers separated left shoulder against Mavericks

Joakim Noah suffered a separated left shoulder against the Dallas Mavericks. The Bulls center missed two weeks with a sprained left shoulder earlier this season.

In just his fourth game back after missing two weeks with a sprained left shoulder, Joakim Noah sprinted to the locker room screaming in agony during the second quarter gripping the same shoulder.

Noah injured the shoulder on Friday in pursuit of a rebound after getting tangled with Dallas Mavericks center JaVale McGee. He exited with 9:41 remaining in the first half.

The former Defensive Player of the Year wasted no time running off the floor, and the Bulls announced he suffered a separated left shoulder and will not return. Dallas rallied in the third quarter to beat Chicago 83–77. Noah finished with two points and two rebounds in six minutes.

After struggling through much of the season, Noah was fresh off a vintage six-point, 16-rebound, eight-assist effort in the Bulls’ 115–111 overtime victory in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
