Watch: Stephen Curry ties NBA record for consecutive games with a three
Just two seasons ago, Kyle Korver made headlines as he closed in on—and eventually broke—the NBA record for consecutive games with a made three-pointer. A note was made on every Hawks broadcast. Regular updates popped up in outlets of all kinds. Dana Barros’s name (as the previous record holder) spiked in basketball conversations and Google search results. Korver’s streak, which would eventually stretch to 127 games, was an accomplishment worth noting and worth celebrating.
So, too, is Stephen Curry’s record-tying streak—even if it came without the same level of fanfare. The narrative of the Warriors’ historic season is simply so dense that Curry finding yet another place in the NBA record books barely registers.

The record-tying shot came on Wednesday, when Curry fired away in transition over a closing Dwyane Wade:

Curry, who finished with 42 points, carried Golden State late to hold off the Heat in Miami for a 118–112 victory. His two late threes sealed the win for the Warriors who improved to 51–5. Klay Thompson, Curry’s backcourt mate, added 33 points.
Miami fell to 32–25 and had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Curry is also just 20 three-pointers short of the record for most threes made in a season—a record he’s already set twice-over.

The question isn’t when Curry will eclipse that mark, but when; his season averages suggest it should happen within a week or so, leaving more than 20 games for Curry to run up the score.
