The Nets Gave Kevin Durant the Tribute Video He Didn’t Want

In this story:
Kevin Durant made his return to the Barclays Center on Wednesday night as his Phoenix Suns faced his former team, the Brooklyn Nets.
Durant clearly stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he didn’t want a tribute video ahead of the game since he was there for three and a half seasons before being traded to the Suns in February.
Well, the Nets didn’t seem to listen, as a tribute video played while Durant was announced on the Suns lineup. It was about a 30 second video showing highlights of his time with the organization. Durant didn’t appear to give a clear reaction.

Durant originally commented on X asking for the Nets not to make a tribute video: “Please don’t, the night will be better without it,” he wrote.
The forward thought his time in Brooklyn was too short to make a huge difference, even as he played alongside Kyrie Irving and James Harden for only 17 games. He hasn’t spoken any specific ill will against his former team despite them struggling in the playoffs and dealing with organizational dysfunction while he was there.
