76ers vs. Suns: Joel Embiid, James Harden's Early Injury Status

Taking a look at the 76ers' injury report against the Suns.

On Saturday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will have a quick turnaround and are set to face the Phoenix Suns less than 24 hours after wrapping up their matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

Going into their Friday night matchup, the Sixers had a handful of players on the injury report, including Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Jalen McDaniels.

Embiid, who was dealing with calf tightness, was cleared for action after missing the entire second half of Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

As for Harden and McDaniels, they didn’t find themselves in a similar position. For the last couple of weeks, McDaniels has battled a hip contusion. While he played in two games recently, he missed his fourth matchup in six outings on Friday night in Golden State.

Meanwhile, Harden’s been battling Achilles soreness, which started on Monday in the matchup against the Bulls. While Harden finished Monday’s double-overtime game with over 40 minutes of playing time, the star guard got off two nights in a row, missing Wednesday and Friday’s game.

According to the Sixers’ injury report, Embiid, Harden, and McDaniels are all questionable for Saturday’s matchup against the Suns.

Joining them on the report is Danuel House Jr., who was a late scratch ahead of Friday’s game as he battled through shoulder soreness.

While the Sixers haven’t ruled out any of their key rotational players just yet, there is a good chance they could go into Saturday’s game missions players. As remaining as healthy as possible ahead of the inevitable playoff run is key for the Sixers, they continue to be extremely cautious.
