Joel Embiid, Sixers’ Final Injury Report Status vs. Nets on Sunday

In this story:
In past seasons, the final game might’ve been an opportunity for the Philadelphia 76ers to offer Joel Embiid some rest. This season, the Sixers don’t have the luxury to make that call.
Still, Embiid was placed on the injury report, labeled as questionable against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. With Embiid suffering a meniscus injury back in January, which required surgery and a long healing period, his status has been closely monitored since his return.
Two Tuesdays ago, Embiid was upgraded to questionable for the first time in months. He was cleared to return against the Oklahoma City Thunder. For the next couple of games, Embiid entered the matchups questionable, but got the chance to play.
The first time Embiid took a game off since his return came last Sunday, when the Sixers paid a visit to the San Antonio Spurs. After a double-overtime win on the road, the Sixers returned home, and allowed Embiid to return to the lineup to take on the Detroit Pistons.
Philly’s latest outing on Thursday against the Orlando Magic featured Embiid once again. However, an injury scare for the superstar center left the team concerned about his playing status moving forward.
The Sixers held a practice session Saturday, and Embiid was reportedly a part of the action. He remained questionable going into Sunday’s game against the Nets.
Embiid wasn’t the only one. The Sixers listed a few players on their injury report. As for the Nets, their injury report was loaded up from the jump. Sunday’s game means a lot more for the home team, but there will be absences on both sides.
