While some of the Philadelphia 76ers new additions were able to acclimate themselves quickly, that was not the case for Marcus Morris. Adjusting to a new team has taken some time for him, but the veteran forward has shown some nice flashes as of late.

When Joel Embiid was out of the lineup last week against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Nurse opted to put Morris in the starting lineup. He played well, scoring 16 points and knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.

On Monday night against the Lakers, Morris had arguably his best performance with the Sixers. He notched 16 points again, only this time in just 19 minutes of work. He converted six of his eight shot attempts, including going for 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Even though things have gone how Morris might have hoped to start his Sixers' tenure, he continues to keep an open mind. He feels there is still untapped potential for him with this group, and performances like Monday are a step in the right direction.

"It was good man. I’ve always been a starter, so it was definitely difficult trying to figure out where I fit and games like this it was a good game for me. It’s gonna be other guys that come up and step up and this the good thing about having a deep team for myself personally, Morris said. "As soon as I get comfortable, and as soon as they establish a role for me, I think the sky is the limit for myself."

Similar to other standouts like Robert Covington and Nic Batum, Morris has the potential to be an asset for the Sixers. He's a proven scorer in this league and can provide an offensive punch off the bench. The Sixers already have a lot of depth at their disposal, but if Morris is able to get going, they might arguably be the deepest team in the NBA.
