Philadelphia 76ers Move on From Danuel House

The 76ers are trading Danuel House.

The Philadelphia 76ers are active on deadline day, as expected. After making a trade with the Indiana Pacers, the Sixers are striking a deal with the Detroit Pistons as well, moving on from their veteran wing, Danuel House Jr., a source confirms.

Along with House, the Sixers are sending a 2024 second-round pick via the Knicks Detroit’s way. The Sixers aren’t expected to receive a player in return for House. Instead, the move helps the Sixers create more salary cap cushion to potentially add players on the buyout market when the deadline concludes.

House’s stint with the Sixers ends after a season and a half. Two summers ago, the Sixers signed House to a one-plus-one deal. He appeared in 56 games, averaging 14 minutes on the court under Doc Rivers. During that time, he averaged five points while knocking down 34 percent of his threes.

Over the offseason, House picked up his player option with the Sixers for the 2023-2024 run. Prior to the deadline, House made 34 appearances with the Sixers, averaging 15 minutes on the court during his first season under Nick Nurse. The veteran averaged four points and two rebounds while shooting 30 percent from three.
