76ers Add Developmental Prospect From Rival Team

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers have added a former developmental prospect from the Brooklyn Nets.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Gina Mizell, the Sixers have agreed to terms on a deal with David Duke. Per Mizell, the contract is an Exhibit-10 deal.
Duke joins the Sixers after a two-season stint in Brooklyn. The Rhode Island-born guard joined the Nets after going undrafted out of Providence in 2021.
During Brooklyn’s 2021-2022 NBA season, Duke appeared in 22 games. He started in a career-high of seven games while spending an average of 16 minutes on the court throughout the year. During that time, Duke averaged five points and three rebounds while shooting 36 percent from the field.
Duke was around for another run with the Nets during the 2022-2023 season. He appeared in a career-high 23 games, averaging ten minutes off the bench. During that time, Duke put up four points per game while knocking down 46 percent of his shots from the field.
With Duke set to join the 76ers’ organization, he’s likely headed to the NBA G League level to play for the team’s affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Last season, the Blue Coats made a third-straight run for the G League title. After coming up short twice, Delaware finally made the breakthrough and took home the hardware in 2023.
Over the last two seasons, Duke split time between Brooklyn and Long Island. Last year, Duke appeared in 22 regular season games for the Long Island Nets. In those outings, he spent an average of 34 minutes on the floor. Duke put up 23 points per game while hitting 48 percent of his shots. In addition to his scoring, Duke was responsible for six rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game.
