Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid ended the 2022-2023 NBA season strong with another monthly honor. According to the NBA, Embiid has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in March and April.

During that stretch, Embiid helped lead the Sixers to a 15-7 record. In that time, Embiid averaged 33 points, nine rebounds, and four assists per game. The big man’s contributions helped the Sixers officially book their ticket to the playoffs once again, clinching the Eastern Conference’s third seed.

By winning Player of the Month once again, Embiid collected the accolade for the third time this season. He also won it in back-to-back months in December and January.

In total, Embiid holds seven Player of the Month awards in his career. He is now the first NBA player since 2019-2020 to win the monthly award three times in a single season. He’s the first member of the Sixers’ organization to do it.

Joining Embiid as the Western Conference’s Player of the Month is the Los Angeles Lakers big man, Anthony Davis. As Davis helped the Lakers to a 14-6 record over the stretch of games in March and April, Davis averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks per game.
