76ers’ Joel Embiid Questionable vs. Celtics for Game 6

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers aren’t comfortable keeping Joel Embiid off the injury report just yet. Although the big man has been available for his team more often than not lately, Embiid remains on the Sixers’ injury report as they head into Game 6 against the Boston Celtics.
As expected, Embiid is listed as questionable with a right knee sprain. When Embiid initially went down with his injury during the first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets, he was forced to miss Philadelphia’s Game 4 elimination matchup.
Without Embiid, the Sixers found success and made it out of the first round with a flawless record. Despite getting over a week off from games, the Sixers were unsure whether or not Embiid would be back in time for their Game 1 matchup against the Boston Celtics in the second round.
Going into the game, Embiid was listed as doubtful. As expected, the big man was ruled out for the matchup. The Sixers went into Game 1 undermanned and came out on top with a tight victory.
Although Embiid was doubtful for Philadelphia’s Game 2 matchup against the Celtics, he found himself upgraded twice before game time before eventually getting cleared for action.
The Sixers couldn’t follow up Game 1 with a win. Fortunately, they were able to have Embiid healthy and available for the next three games, though.
With Embiid, the Sixers have gone 2-2 in the series against the Celtics. During the four-game stretch, Embiid has spent an average of 37 minutes on the floor. During that time, the big man put up 28 points per game while coming down with nine rebounds per game and producing three assists and three blocks per game.
Barring any unexpected setbacks, Embiid should be good to go for Thursday’s Game 6 matchup against the Celtics. The Sixers and the Celtics are set to continue the series at 7:30 PM ET.
