Following a 25-game suspension, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant returned to the court on Tuesday night. Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey was tuned into the action and enjoyed what he saw.

“Ja being back is good for hoops!” Maxey wrote on X.

The comment came shortly after Morant ended his return with a bang, sinking a buzzer-beater shot to help the Grizzlies take down the New Orleans Pelicans.

Times have been tough for the Grizzlies, who got off to a slow start without their high-flying All-Star.

Through the first 25 games of action, the Grizzlies went 6-19. They are currently out of the Western Conference’s playoff picture after finishing in second place last season.

They have a lot of ground to cover at this point, but they started off Morant’s return on the right foot as they defeated the seventh-seeded Pelicans.

Maxey and the Sixers will look forward to facing Morant and the Grizzlies in March when the two teams battle it out for the first time this season. The first matchup will take place on March 6, when the Grizzlies pay a visit to the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly.

Exactly one month later, the Sixers will take their trip to Memphis and face the Grizzlies for the final time during the regular season.

Last year, the Sixers and the Grizzlies split their regular season series. In early December, the Sixers fell short 117-109. When they re-visited the series in late February, the Sixers got their revenge with a 110-105 win.
