76ers vs. Bulls: Joel Embiid Added to Sixers’ Injury Report

In this story:
Last week was a busy one for the Philadelphia 76ers, who participated in a four-game stretch. They wrapped up the slate with a back-to-back, with one game at home against the Detroit Pistons and the other on the road against the Charlotte Hornets.
It’s no secret the Sixers hit an easy stretch of their schedule. With matchups against the Hornets, Pistons, and the Washington Wizards, Philly faced three of the Eastern Conference’s bottom seeds through the first stretch of the year.
There were two major goals coming out of the week for the 76ers: One, take care of business and don’t fall into trap games. Two, stay healthy in the process.
For the most part, It’s safe to say they were successful on both fronts as they look to begin a new week against the Chicago Bulls on Monday,
76ers’ Injury Report vs. Bulls
Heading into the matchup against the Bulls, the Sixers initially didn’t have any injuries to report outside of their G League assignments.
As usual, the two-way prospects Ricky Council, Terquvion Smith, and Javonte Smart won’t be around the team. Meanwhile, the third-year guard Jaden Springer has been assigned to the team as well. This marks the second time this season Springer has been put on G League duty.
Over the past week, the Sixers have been able to get some of their key players rest as they dominated the competition early enough in matchups to get some old-school load management going.
While the Sixers avoided notable setbacks, they did add two players to the injury report on Monday afternoon. Joel Embiid is listed as questionable with hamstring tightness. The veteran reserve Marcus Morris was included as well, considered questionable with an illness.
Embiid’s setback is slightly notable considering it’s a new issue he’s dealing with, but the Sixers are likely just playing it safe. The two veterans are likely viewed as game-time decisions for Monday’s matchup against the Bulls.
