76ers vs. Celtics: Is Joel Embiid on the Game 4 Injury Report?

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Boston Celtics for Game 4 on Sunday afternoon. Once again, Sixers center Joel Embiid is on the injury report ahead of the matchup.
Since the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Embiid has been dealing with a sprained knee. After receiving his official diagnosis following the team’s Game 3 win against the Brooklyn Nets, Embiid took a game off as the Sixers closed out the first-round series in Brooklyn with an undermanned win in Game 4.
Although Embiid was off from almost all basketball activities for a week, the rest didn’t guarantee he would be ready for Game 1 of the second-round series against the Boston Celtics.
Entering Game 1 in Boston, Embiid made the trip but was listed as doubtful. Sure enough, the Sixers played without Embiid and managed to come away with the win as James Harden produced 45 points in an upset victory to take a 1-0 lead.
Going into Game 2, the Sixers continued the trend of considering Embiid doubtful to play in the matchup, but his status eventually changed. In the hours leading up to tip-off, Embiid was upgraded to questionable. After going through pregame warmups, he was cleared for action.
Following Embiid’s return, the Sixers made it clear they would take his injury day by day. Ahead of Game 3, the big man was questionable once again but ended up playing nearly 40 minutes in the loss.
As the Sixers approach a must-win Game 4 matchup, Embiid is once again questionable. Unless an unexpected setback occurs prior to tip, Embiid will more than likely play.
Trailing 2-1 in the series, Embiid, and the Sixers are set to begin Game 4 at 3:30 PM ET on Sunday.
