76ers vs. Timberwolves: Joel Embiid’s Playing Status on Wednesday

In this story:
Lately, the Philadelphia 76ers have been dealing with some setbacks. The star center Joel Embiid has dealt with his fair share of concerns, which has led to his name popping up on the team’s injury report.
When the Sixers prepared for their Monday night matchup against the Chicago Bulls, Embiid was downgraded to questionable. According to the team, he was dealing with hamstring tightness.
The Sixers waited until Embiid went through his pregame routine before making the final call on his status. Fortunately, Embiid was up for the challenge of playing.
It was a normal shift for Embiid, who checked in for 37 minutes on Monday night. He led the Sixers’ offense in shots taken, attempting 28 field goals. With another efficient shooting outing, Embiid scored 40 points for the fourth time this year.
Despite a scoring masterclass from Embiid, who went for the game-high, the Sixers came up short against the Bulls, losing 108-104. They face a tough challenge on Wednesday when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Will Joel Embiid Play?
The Sixers aren’t worried about the status of Embiid this time around. Heading into the matchup against the Timberwolves, Embiid avoided the injury report and is available to play.
When the Sixers and the Timberwolves met for the first time this season back in November, Embiid missed his first outing of the year. At the time, the big man was dealing with hip soreness. The Sixers didn’t have a solution in his absence. They collected a 112-99 loss as a result.
Although Embiid will get the opportunity to play on Wednesday, the Sixers will still go out shorthanded. According to the team’s injury report, Nic Batum has been ruled out due to hamstring soreness. He missed the fourth quarter of Monday’s game against Chicago.
In addition to Batum, the Sixers could also be without Marcus Morris and Robert Covington, as they are both dealing with illnesses.
The Sixers and the Timberwolves are set to tip at 7:00 PM ET.
