76ers: What's the Cost of an Andre Drummond Reunion?

In this story:
Everybody in Philadelphia loves a good reunion. When the Philadelphia 76ers managed to land the veteran wing Robert Covington from the Los Angeles Clippers, it was an acquisition that was met with praise, as the city wanted the two-way veteran back in a Sixers uniform.
You could say the same about Philly’s desire to see Andre Drummond suit up for the Sixers again.
Although Drummond was with the Sixers on a one-year deal, many people, including Drummond, felt like the big man left with unfinished business in 2022.
Caught in the crossfire of the Ben Simmons-James Harden blockbuster, Drummond was moved to the Brooklyn Nets. He finished the 2021-2022 season in Brooklyn before signing a two-year deal with the Chicago Bulls two offseasons ago.
Amidst his second season in Chicago, Drummond has become a common name in the rumor mill. While the Bulls have had many players tossed in trade rumors since the start of the 2023-2024 season, Drummond seems to be Chicago’s most likely to be traded, with the deadline approaching this afternoon.
As the Sixers have been in search of a big man — especially with Joel Embiid undergoing surgery to correct his meniscus injury earlier this week — Drummond has become a common target for Philadelphia.
What’s the Cost?
According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, the Bulls stated that they are in search of “at least multiple second-round picks” in a deal for Drummond. Tossing out the notion that they are willing to keep him if their price isn’t met, it seems the Bulls are taking full advantage of a crowded market for the veteran big man.
The Sixers have picks to move, but last year’s trade deadline surely raised the bar for this year’s. As veteran role players were frequently getting traded for loads of second-round picks, the Bulls could be using that as an example for their asking price regarding Drummond.
Getting help in the frontcourt was already a priority for the Sixers before Embiid went down. Reuniting with the glass-cleaning big man should be a priority for Philly, but it won’t be easy. With a handful of teams in the market for Drummond, Chicago has an opportunity to stand firm on their asking price.
