Bucks Plan to Sign Veteran Guard After Matchup vs. Sixers

In this story:
The Milwaukee Bucks are adding a new member to the squad this weekend. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are going to ink the veteran free agent guard Gordan Dragic to a contract ahead of their eventual playoff run.
Dragic won’t be on board quick enough to face the Philadelphia 76ers, who are in town on Saturday to take on the Bucks. However, Dragic is meeting with the team and intends to stick around.
At this point in his career, Dragic’s days being a full-time starter are behind him. However, Milwaukee could benefit from his talent coming off the bench and the vocal veteran leadership he brings to the table.
Being in the NBA since 2008, Dragic has had runs with several teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, and most recently, the Chicago Bulls.
Although Dragic had multiple runs with the Suns and played his best season in Phoenix during the 2013-2014 run, he’s best known for his time with the Miami Heat. During his time with the Heat, Dragic averaged 16 points, five assists, and four rebounds while knocking down 36 percent of his threes across 443 games.
Since his days in Miami, Dragic played five games in Toronto, 16 games in Brooklyn, and 51 games in Chicago. This year, Dragic averaged six points, three assists, and one rebound with the Bulls. Putting up three threes per game, the veteran guard has averaged 35 percent from deep.
The Bucks will look to rely on Dragic for a bench role come playoff time. The veteran guard has six playoff runs under his belt. In the postseason, Dragic averaged 15 points, three assists, and three rebounds while knocking down 35 percent of his threes.
