Danny Green Joins Sixers' Conference After Grizzlies Stint

In this story:
After spending more than half the season in the Western Conference, former Philadelphia 76ers veteran Danny Green is back in the East and will now be a direct competitor of the Sixers.
According to Cleveland.com, Green reached a deal to join the Cleveland Cavaliers for the remainder of the 2022-2023 NBA season. With the Cavaliers currently sitting in fourth place in the East, Green will bring valuable championship experience to a young and thriving Cleveland roster.
Over the last two seasons, Green played with the Sixers. He started in 97 of the 131 games he played. Averaging 25 minutes on the court, Green drained 41 percent of his field goals and knocked down 40 percent of his threes. He put up eight points per game and averaged one steal per outing.
In the two playoff runs he had with the Sixers, Green appeared in 20 games. His postseason numbers were on par with his regular season stats, as he averaged eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal while shooting 40 percent from three.
Unfortunately, both of Green’s playoff runs with the Sixers ended prematurely as injuries took him off the floor. During the 2021 NBA Playoffs, Green suffered an ACL injury that required surgery in the offseason. Therefore, he missed the first 50 games of the 2022-2023 season.
Although Green was on a playoff-contending team in Memphis after getting traded by the Sixers in the offseason, he played a few games before getting traded to the rebuilding Houston Rockets. After reaching a buyout with Houston, Green considered several interested contenders before reaching a deal with the Cavaliers.
This season, the Cavaliers pose a threat to the 76ers. With Philadelphia sitting in the third seed, there is a chance the two teams could meet at some point during the postseason.
