Kings’ Sharpshooter Lands on Injury Report vs. 76ers

In this story:
After hitting the road for one game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Philadelphia 76ers are back at home on Friday night to host the Sacramento Kings.
The visitors will be without a key player on Friday, as the Kings added their sharpshooter Kevin Huerter to the injury report ahead of the matchup.
Dealing with a left ankle sprain, Huerter is ruled out against the 76ers. The setback is sudden for the veteran sharpshooter and could cause a rare occurrence for the Kings, as Huerter has been relatively healthy all season long.
Of Sacramento’s 37 games this season, Huerter missed just one outing. His lone absence came in a Kings win against the Dallas Mavericks on November 19. Since then, Huerter has averaged 21 minutes on the floor across Sacramento’s previous 25 games.
This season has been a bit of a down year for Huerter, who had his most productive season as a pro just last year. After spending his first four years competing with the Atlanta Hawks, Huerter landed on the Kings for the 2022-2023 season.
In 75 games, Huerter averaged nearly 30 minutes per game. He produced 15 points per game while draining 40 percent of his threes. Both accomplishments were marked as career highs.
This year, Huerter has averaged just under ten points per game and is currently shooting 33 percent from three. While shooting has been his bread and butter for the Kings and the Hawks in past years, Huerter is still searching for consistency in 2024. Unfortunately for Sacramento, he won’t get the nod to play on Friday.
