Ahead of the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has ruffled some feathers over in Washington.

During a discussion on FanDuel TV’s ‘Run It Back,’ Dinwiddie explained his issues with Washington Wizards standout Kyle Kuzma, which fueled Dinwiddie’s former teammate to take to Twitter to respond with a long thread.

Here’s the gist of the thread:

  • Kuzma claims that the Wizards have “real estate” in Dinwiddie’s head
  • The Wizards veteran points out that Dinwiddie doesn’t have any championships
  • Kuzma notes that former Brooklyn stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving gave the new-look Nets a decent head start to the season with 34 wins
  • Kuzma notes that Dinwiddie didn’t find too much success following his Wizards tenure last year
  • The forward states the obvious; he’s got a nice contract coming his way
  • Lastly, the part that will stand out to Philadelphia 76ers fans is the way Kuzma ended his rant.

“Go [Sixers],” the Wizards’ forward tweeted.

This weekend, the Sixers and the Nets will begin the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs with a seven-game series against each other. Although Dinwiddie started his season off as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, he was traded to the Nets midway through the season.

Since landing in Brooklyn, Dinwiddie has appeared in 26 games. During that stretch, the Nets guard has averaged 17 points and nine assists while shooting 40 percent from the field and 29 percent from three.

Considering Dinwiddie is on his second stint with the Nets and had a run with the Wizards, he’s faced the Sixers plenty of times throughout his career and found success against them during his first run in Brooklyn.

On Saturday, Dinwiddie will face the Sixers in a playoff series for the second time. This time around, Kyle Kuzma will be rooting against him as the rift between the two NBA veterans continues.
