With the trade deadline approaching quickly, the Philadelphia 76ers are on the hunt for a potential deal that could boost their chances of making a championship run. It’s not a guarantee the Sixers will make a trade before the deadline, but if they don’t, it won’t be due to a lack of trying.

Lately, the Sixers have been linked to several players they could add to play center behind Joel Embiid. Last week, Utah Jazz’s Jarred Vanderbilt and Detroit Pistons’ Nerlens Noel were mentioned as potential targets for the Sixers.

This week, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Chicago Bulls big man Andre Drummond could be in play for Philadelphia.

“Along with Vanderbilt, the Sixers have expressed interest in former Sixer and current Pistons reserve center Nerlens Noel. Chicago Bulls reserve center Andre Drummond, another former Sixer, could also be an option if the asking price is right.”

Drummond getting linked to the Sixers is far from surprising. As the Bulls’ veteran has been in and out of the rotation at times, he could be a valuable acquisition for contending teams in need of a backup big man. For the Sixers, Drummond has the tools they need, and he’s already proven in the past to be productive behind Embiid.

Last year, Drummond played in 49 games for the Sixers. He averaged 18 minutes on the floor, putting up six points per game while coming down with nine rebounds per game. Not only could the Sixers use Drummond’s services, but he confirmed earlier this season that he wished he was able to see last season through with the Sixers as he enjoyed his short time at the organization.

Drummond will more than likely be a name to keep an eye on for Philadelphia, but it seems Chicago would have to tweak their asking price before anything gets done.
