Sixers News: Doc Rivers Explains Jaden Springer's Injury vs. Nets

In this story:
On Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers traveled to New York as they took on the Brooklyn Nets in the final game of their regular season.
With Doc Rivers opting to rest his star players, reserve players such as Mac McClung, Louis King, and Jaden Springer tend to soak in the minutes, using them as a platform for why they deserve a spot at the table.
This was the case in the Sixers' surprise win against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, with Springer producing a career-high 19 points only one day after winning the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats.
Having all of this success in a short period of time, fans were certain to see the 20-year-old in action on Sunday, but he would be relegated to the bench after only two minutes of action.
Following the Sixers' win, Doc Rivers provided an injury update on Springer, explaining that it was in relation to an incident that occurred in the G League finals earlier on in the week.
"He turned his ankle in the championship game in the G League, then he played the other night, and it got really sore," Rivers told reporters.
Rivers would go on to explain that prior to the game, Springer wanted to go on playing, yet would change his mind after only a few moments on the court.
"We talked about not playing him," Rivers finished. "He said he wanted to give it a go, and then after a minute, he knew, so we just took him out."
