Sixers Conference Rival Favorites to Sign Veteran Guard

In this story:
The Milwaukee Bucks don’t seem to be finished adding prospects to their roster. Ahead of an inevitable playoff run in 2023, the Bucks are reportedly frontrunners to land the veteran guard, Gordon Dragic, who hit the open market on Thursday, according to ESPN.
Earlier this week, the Chicago Bulls cut Dragic loose by waiving him. After he cleared waivers on Thursday, Dragic is free to sign wherever he sees fit.
So far, Dragic hasn’t been linked to anybody but the Bucks. As he’s set to meet with Milwaukee officials on Friday, it seems that Dragic is likely to ink a contract with the Eastern Conference frontrunners.
Over the last couple of seasons, Dragic has bounced around the NBA. After spending seven seasons as a member of the Miami Heat, Dragic found himself moved to the Toronto Raptors ahead of the 2021-2022 season. He played in just five games before getting traded to the San Antonio Spurs months later.
After getting moved to the Spurs, Dragic reached a contract buyout with the team. Eventually, he signed a deal with the Brooklyn Nets. Dragic appeared in 16 games with the Nets last season. He averaged seven points and three assists. In the payoffs, he knocked down 56 percent of his shots and put up 11 points per game.
Over the offseason, Dragic connected with the Chicago Bulls. Following a 51-game run in Chicago, Dragic found himself waived as the Bulls looked to make a couple of tweaks as they fight for a spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Dragic will look for a team that’s ready to compete for a title.
With the Philadelphia 76ers primed to make the playoffs once again, there is a chance they could have a run-in with the Milwaukee Bucks. Since the trade deadline, the Bucks have made a couple of moves to bolster their roster as they maintain one of the best records in the East.
Adding a player like Dragic would just give Milwaukee another solid veteran presence.
