For the first time in his career, Shake Milton signed with another team this past summer.

In his first five NBA seasons, Milton played for the Philadelphia 76ers. Coming out of SMU in 2018, Milton landed with the Sixers on draft night after getting selected and traded by the Dallas Mavericks.

As a second-round selection, Milton started his career as a two-way player, splitting time between the Sixers’ main roster and their G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. By year two, Milton found a role on the main roster after landing a standard NBA contract.

During his final four seasons in Philadelphia, Milton averaged ten points, three assists, and two rebounds while knocking down 37 percent of his threes. Following the 2022-2023 season, Milton hit the free agency market for the first time.

Over the summer, Milton signed a two-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He looked forward to getting a fresh start on a new team. Unfortunately, the Timberwolves will cut his time short in Minnesota.

This year, Milton has spent 38 games on the court for the Timberwolves, averaging 13 minutes. During that time, he put up five points per game while averaging just 26 percent from deep.

Ahead of the trade deadline, Milton finds himself moved to a new team. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the veteran guard is headed to the Detroit Pistons, landing him back in the Eastern Conference. Milton joins Troy Brown in the deal that will land the Wolves Monte Morris.

The former Sixer will make his way back to Philly as a member of the Pistons for the first time on April 9.
