Jabari Parker, who is attempting an NBA comeback, will not play for the Milwaukee Bucks in the upcoming NBA Summer League.

Parker was part of Milwaukee’s Summer League roster, but per a report by Eric Nehm of the Athletic, the former ACC Rookie of the Year will skip the pre-season tournament “because of a family matter.”

Hampered by injuries

Parker was Milwaukee’s second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. His career took a major hit when he tore his ACL just 25 games into his rookie season.

The 6-foot-7 forward suffered another blow when he tore the same ligament in the same knee during his third season.

After spending four seasons with the Bucks, Parker bounced around the league as he played for the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and Boston Celtics.

Parker was waived by the Celtics on January 7th, 2022, and he did not play in the entire 2022-23 season.

Parker has career averages of 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

The report that Parker will not be suiting up in the pre-season competition came a day after Milwaukee’s Summer League roster was announced.

The lineup includes MarJon Beachamp, AJ Green, and Lindell Wigginton, who played for the Bucks in the past season.

Young guns to strut their wares

Among those who will see action for the Bucks are their acquisitions in the recent NBA Draft.

Andrew Jackson Jr., the 36th overall pick whose draft rights were acquired by the Bucks from the Orlando Magic, and Chris Livingston, Milwaukee’s 58th pick, are also part of the team.

Milwaukee’s undrafted acquisitions Omari Moore and Drew Timme will also be suiting up.

Milwaukee’s 58th pick in the 2022 draft, Hugo Besson, will also be playing in the Summer League.

Other players of Milwaukee’s Summer League squad are Vin Baker Jr., Pariss Bass, Tyler Bey, Tyler Cook, Aliou Diarra, Tacko Fall, Jazian Gortmant, Alan Griffin, Nico Mannion, Iverson Molinar, and Anthony Tarke.
