Ex-Buck Bryn Forbes arrested for a new family violence charge
Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Bryn Forbes was arrested Tuesday on a family violence charge.
Per Mariah Medina of News 4 San Antonio, a warrant of arrest was issued against Forbes for physically assaulting a family member through choking and strangulation, a third-degree felony.
Background of Forbes’ arrest
San Antonio Police took a needed response when a woman called and reported Forbes’ physical abuse in her apartment during the early hours of Monday morning. She claimed that Bryn suddenly stormed into the unit and punched her in the head. He then used his forearm and grabbed the collar of her shirt to make it difficult for her to breathe.
The woman managed to escape the scene and immediately filed a complaint. She has been in an “on/off relationship” with Forbes, with whom she shares two children.
Forbes allegedly tried to escape when the authorities arrived. He was eventually caught by the police and was jailed in Bexar County on a $7,500 bond.
Bryn was also arrested back in February 2023 due to a similar family violence charge for assault and bodily injury. The case was dropped as Forbes complied with a pre-trial diversion that required him to pay a fine, complete community service, submit to drug and alcohol testing, and fulfill several multi-week courses related to family violence and prevention.
Bryn as a Buck
Bryn played one season for the Bucks back in the 2020-21 season, in which he signed a one-year, $2.3 million deal.
As a marksman guard, he assumed a rotational role within the team. For 70 regular season games played, he averaged 10.0 points, 1.6 boards, and shot 47.3 percent from the field (45.2 percent from three) in 19.3 minutes of play.
He ultimately served as an important puzzle piece in the Bucks’ successful championship rally that year, most notably for his sizzling heroics in the team's first-round sweep over the Miami Heat. He tallied 6.6 points and drained 37.1 percent of his threes in 20 games of appearance during the 2021 postseason.
