Milwaukee is currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 33-17 record, while Charlotte is second to the last with a 15-36 slate. The two squads may be poles apart in the team standings, but the Hornets have proven they have what it takes to take down the Bucks.
Game preview
In their first meeting in Charlotte on December 4th, the Bucks handled the Hornets 105-96. But the Hornets returned the favor in their second meeting, stunning the Bucks on their home floor with a 138-109 upset that is, without a doubt, Milwaukee's worst loss of the season.
In that 29-point loss, Giannis Antetokounmpo was nowhere near his deadly self, as he was limited to just nine points with only nine attempts from the field.
Antetokounmpo has been on an offensive tear of late, and he may be extra motivated to face the Hornets following that anemic performance in their last duel.
Averaging 31.7 points and 12.0 rebounds this season, Giannis is coming off a 50-point explosion as he led the Bucks to a 135-110 dumping of the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night.
The Bucks have yet to lose since Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton returned from five-game and 18-game absences, respectively. Milwaukee has won six of their last seven games in what has been a searing run that allowed them to climb atop the standings.
Injury report
Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) and MarJon Beauchamp (knee) are listed as probable, while Bobby Portis Jr.(knee) and Serge Ibaka (personal) are out for the Bucks.
