The Milwaukee Bucks’ new head coach Adrian Griffin, is amped to finally work with his team in training camp, which begins in a few weeks' time. With a stellar core headed by superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and a few new faces, Griffin will have his work cut out for him in his first season at the helm as the Bucks try to move past the heartbreak of losing in the first round of the NBA Playoffs to the Miami Heat earlier this year.

“We have a really good staff. My staff has been incredible, and I’m just looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for us to build, brick-by-brick, day-by-day. We build our house. That’s one of the things I’ve been telling our players. Every day, we’re building our house,” Griffin said.

Well-prepared

Everything that Griffin and his coaching staff have been working on has led to training camp, where the team will work to form chemistry, build on their foundations, and put in place what they’ve been working for since the season ended. And although this isn’t Griffin’s first rodeo, he says he still feels nervous, now more so as he assumes the responsibility of leading and guiding this title-contending squad.

“I’ve been excited since my press conference,” Griffin said. “It’s a dream come true. Obviously, I played this game, and you get butterflies going into training camp, but I think we’re going to be well-prepared.”

Giannis’ comments

Giannis recently raised eyebrows with comments regarding the future of his career and whether that’ll be in Milwaukee or somewhere else. The “Greek Freak” expressed his desire to win more NBA titles and shared that he and the franchise should be on the same page. Asked if these comments put more pressure on his shoulders, Griffin said it did not.

“Like I said, we’re aligned. We’re here to win. And the one thing I’ve talked to our team and my staff about is embracing expectations. We have a really good roster. Instead of running from it, we want to embrace it,” Griffin said.
