The Milwaukee Bucks got the win in their season-opener, and Giannis Antetokounmpo got another franchise-record.

Giannis set another record in Milwaukee when he overtook Milwaukee legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most field goals made in franchise history.

The Greek Freak now has 5,903 field goals as a Milwaukee player. Abdul-Jabbar made 5,902 field goals in the six seasons that he played with the Bucks.

The greatest Buck?

Giannis broke Kareem’s franchise record when he scored 23 points on a 10-of-22 night from the field in their 118-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.

With his recent achievement, Giannis is making a strong case for being the greatest player in the Milwaukee franchise.

Giannis, who was Milwaukee’s 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, is already the franchise leader in points, assists, and games played.

The Greek Freak is also the franchise leader in minutes played and blocks (907). As a Buck, Giannis has won two MVP awards and one NBA title.

On a mission

This season, Antetokounmpo is looking to lead the Bucks back to the top after they failed to get past the first round last season. They started the brand-new season on a high note when they rallied from eight points down in the fourth quarter to edge out the Sixers.

Damian Lillard scored 39 points in his debut in Milwaukee, including the team’s final 11 points. Coach Adrian Griffin was pleased with what he saw with the two All-Star teammates.

“You could see [Lillard and Antetokounmpo] complemented each other out there. They really do. It's only going to get better. It's just one game. It takes time to build that chemistry. We showed flashes of what's to come,” said Griffin.
