Although the core players of the Milwaukee Bucks have reached a certain age, they continue to prove their effectiveness on the court. All-Stars Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez may not be in their youthful prime, but they are still formidable. In contrast, Giannis Antetokounmpo is steadily approaching his peak performance. As a result, experts predict that the Bucks will remain one of the league's top teams three years from now.

Could look different

The Bucks’ cap situation will essentially be a blank canvas in 2026, with Jrue and Brook becoming unrestricted free agents in 2025 and Giannis, Khris, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton following suit the following year. By then, the Bucks could look entirely different from the one slated to contend for the Eastern Conference title this upcoming season. However, if the Bucks manage to keep Antetokounmpo around for several more years, the Bucks will remain a team to be reckoned with in the NBA.

“Even if we assume that Antetokounmpo is the only Buck still in place (and that still feels like the safest bet, even after recent comments about waiting to sign an extension), Milwaukee should still be a title contender,” Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report said.

Best player in the world

Giannis is a generational talent who, when healthy, will always be in the conversation for the “best player in the world” title. Only a handful of teams can lay claim to having a player of such status, and the Bucks just happen to have the “Greek Freak” in its stead. And so, as long as he stays in Milwaukee, the Bucks retain the title of one of the best teams in the NBA.

“At 31, Giannis will likely still be good for around 30 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists per game. And if he's surrounded by a decent supporting cast with some shooting and grit on defense, the Bucks will be one of the best teams in the NBA,” Bailey continued.
