Milwaukee Bucks wingman Grayson Allen often comes off as rugged—a reputation he’s gotten due to his numerous on-court shenanigans that date back to his college days back in Duke. However, the 27-year-old showed his softer side recently as he shared which female athlete he looks up to the most.

Celebrating Women’s History Month

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Allen was asked which influential female athlete he looks up to. Without batting an eyelash, the fifth-year pro quipped it would be his wife, Morgan.

“An influential female athlete that inspires me would be my wife,” said Allen.

“Played professional soccer for three years. I knew her in college when she was a soccer player for a Final Four Duke team. At the same time, she's studying pre-med biology and anatomy. I have no idea how she was able to handle all that in the first place. She's an extremely hard worker, so she’s someone I look up to,” Allen mused about the woman he wed in July of last year.

Indeed, Morgan was an accomplished athlete in her own right. She was drafted in the fourth round of the National Women’s Soccer League in 2018 by the North Carolina Courage before getting traded to the Orlando Pride in 2019. However, she retired from professional soccer in November 2022 due to a hip injury that required surgery.

An integral part of the Bucks’ attack

As for Allen, the oft-controversial wingman has been an integral part of the Bucks’ attack on both ends of the floor. He’s averaging 10.6 points while shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc. He’s also tallying 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while playing solid defense against the opposing team’s best perimeter defenders.
