The Chicago Bulls will try to give rookie star Victor Wembanyama a cold Windy City welcome when they host the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night at the United Center. Fresh off a 124-106 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, the Bulls are seeking to find both energy and focus to emerge victorious on the second night of a back-to-back.

Nine-game road skid

The Bulls are playing the second of a six-game homestand at the United Center, and they’ll look to take advantage of a San Antonio team that is mired in a nine-game road losing streak. It has been a season to remember—albeit for the wrong reasons—for the young Frenchman who the Spurs tabbed as the first overall pick of this year’s NBA Draft.

Although the 7-foot-4 wunderkind has put up superb numbers of 19.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game, it hasn’t translated to many wins for San Antonio, as the Spurs are the worst team in the Western Conference with a 4-22 record.

Winning roll

The Bulls, on the other hand, have seemingly found a winning formula this season. With an emphasis on pushing the ball, Chicago is playing an up-tempo style that has seen the team win seven of its last ten games and vault into 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Chicago will look to use its newfound momentum to capture their third straight victory on Thursday night against the Spurs.

Alex Caruso says the emergence of the Chicago Bulls' young players is playing a key role in their recent success
