Jarrett Allen Makes Cavaliers History In Crucial Victory

Jarrett Allen becomes one of just four Cleveland Cavaliers to shoot 13-for-14 in a single game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers needed someone to step up as they looked to secure their spot in the playoffs on Friday evening. Cleveland was matched up with a dangerous Indiana Pacers who also was playing for something.

Jarrett Allen finished the game with 29 points (four shy of a career-high), 13 rebounds, and three assists. He also shot an ultra-efficient 92% (13-for-14) from the floor in the Cavaliers’ win. This efficiency is what puts his name in the Cavaliers' record books.

JA is one of only four Cavaliers to shoot 13-14 in a single game. The other players on that list are Georges Niang (1-17-2024 vs MIL), Brad Daugherty (2-21-92 vs SAC), and Elmore Smith (3-13-77 vs ATL), per CavsNotes on X.

To shoot this well from the floor against a team like the Pacers isn’t easy considering their size. Between Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner, Jalen Smith, and Obi Toppin, there are plenty of players to defend in the paint. But Allen took it right to them and found a lot of success doing just that.

After the game, Allen said, “I do it for the city of Cleveland and my teammates. I have to come every night, show my hardest, play my hardest, and just try to push us forward every single time.”

J.B. Bickerstaff gave Allen credit for how aggressive he was against the Pacers. Bickerstaff called JA’s performance “attack-minded” which is exactly what the Cavaliers team needs him to do.

If the Cavs get this type of performance from JA in the playoffs, they’ll be a dangerous team no matter who they face off with.
