A huge topic of discussion among NBA fans over the past few days has been the Memphis Grizzlies and Dillon Brooks. Brooks and his team were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs by LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers following some off-the-court comments from Brooks that he probably wants to have back.

It's safe to say that we've seen Brooks play his last game with the Grizzlies with a new report from Shams Charania saying that the team wouldn't bring him back "under any circumstances."

Brooks is a free agent so he has the option to choose to sign with any team that wants him. Are the Clevland Cavaliers one of those contenders and would he even be a good fit?

If you look at Brooks' fit in Cleveland purely based on basketball, it's not a horrible option for a team that needs a wing that can play defense, be physical, and hit a three from time to time.

Brooks has been in the league for six seasons and is averaging 14.5 points a game while shooting 34 percent from behind the arc.

So yes, purely basketball-wise it could work. But there's more to a fit than just basketball. I'm not sure Donovan Mitchell and the rest of the locker room would be behind signing Brooks.

For those that forgot, Mitchell and Brooks got into a scuffle in early February after the Cavs guard felt he was cheaply hit below the belt. He made his frustration known by throwing the ball and charging Brooks.

Both players were ejected from the game. But the fireworks continued afterward as Mitchell didn't shy away from revealing his true feeling for the Memphis wing. When Mitchell was asked if he felt this was a cheap shot by Brooks, he said, "Yeah for sure. That's just who he is."

Mitchell went on to talk about how Brooks' antics aren't exclusive to him and other players around the NBA, such as Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry, have had their issues with him

J.B. Bickerstaff wasn't pleased with the play either. He chimed in after the incident calling it a cheap shot and said, "We don't have those guys that start s---. But we got guys that don't run from s---."

It's a complicated answer on whether the Cavs should be a contender to pursue Brooks. He may make the team better on the floor but is that worth the already existing tension between Brooks and Cleveland's All-Star player?
