Caris LeVert Records First Double-Double Of Season, Cavs Beat Wizards

The Cleveland swingman scored 11 points and dished out a season-high 11 assists in the Cavaliers' second consecutive home victory over Washington.

On Friday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers swept a home back-to-back against the Washington Wizards with a 114-90 wire-to-wire victory.

In another strong team showing, the Wine and Gold dished out 31 assists, reaching 30 assists in their second consecutive game.

One player, though, distributed over a third of these assists.

Cavaliers swingman Caris LeVert recorded his first double-double of the season, totaling 11 points and a season-high 11 assists off the Cleveland bench. He added four rebounds and a pair of steals to his stat line as well.

According to @CavsNotes on X, this was the 14th double-double of LeVert’s NBA career.

LeVert was one of five Cleveland players to score in double-figures, shooting 3-for-7 (42.9%) from the field, 1-for-2 (50%) from three-point range, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. He was also one of six such players to record a positive, double-digit plus/minus (+13).

The 29-year-old was a vital component to the Wine and Gold’s two most substantial offensive quarters. First, he had four assists in the team’s 36-point first quarter. LeVert then dished out four more assists in Cleveland’s 32-point third quarter.

After the game, Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff explained how LeVert distributing the ball helps the team succeed.

“He does a great job of finding his teammates, so you get to play with different lineups. You get to do different things defensively because of the size you can put on the floor. More switching, keep people in front of you. And then really be diverse offensively because he can create and beat his man, and he’s so unselfish.”

LeVert, however, was not the only Cleveland player to record a double-double. Cleveland center Jarrett Allen tallied his sixth consecutive double-double with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
