Cavs Sixth Man Questionable, Evan Mobley Out Vs. Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers won't have Evan Mobley for a third straight game, while Caris LeVert appears closer to a return with Tuesday's injury designation in Boston.

As has been the case all season to this point, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still not whole. Tuesday afternoon, the team released its injury report for tonight's game against the Boston Celtics.

Evan Mobley is still dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of action since last Thursday, and he won't be suiting up at the TD Garden as a result.

But there may be a bit of good news. Caris LeVert, the wine-and-gold's sixth man and off-beat, pace-changing presence, is being listed as questionable ahead of the first game of two contests in Boston. (The other half will be played on Thursday evening.)

LeVert has been sidelined by a bothersome knee since Cleveland's most disappointing loss of the season vs. the Portland Trail Blazers, even missing practices at home during the NBA In-Season Tournament days that teams could regroup over.

If he is able to return this evening against the Celtics, who are undefeated in their own building thus far, that would be a huge boost for the Cavs. It's especially helpful in the playmaking and rescue-possession-scoring department, which they could have used when they went cold in Orlando on Monday.

Defensively, LeVert is a hound and oftentimes creates havoc to force turnovers and disrupt passing lanes too.

When LeVert returns, he'll likely be on a minute restriction, just like the rest of the players have had to be in coming back from wear-and-tear issues.

And hopefully, we'll see some more of those three-guard lineups with Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell
