Cleveland Cavaliers Sign Zhaire Smith To 10-Day Contract

The 24-year-old has averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game with the NBA G League's Cleveland Charge this season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers currently own the NBA’s longest active winning streak at nine games.

During this impressive run, the Wine and Gold have now added a new player to their roster.

On Sunday, the Cavaliers announced that they have signed NBA G League guard Zhaire Smith to a 10-day contract.

The 24-year-old is the second player Cleveland has signed to a 10-day contract this season. Pete Nance signed a 10-day contract with the team last month, and has since returned to the Cleveland Charge.

Smith has performed well with the Charge so far this season. In 36 combined Showcase and regular-season games, he has averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.9 blocks per contest.

Smith has also shot 54.3% from the field, 40.4% from three-point range, and 79.6% from the free throw line.

Additionally, he played in the Cavaliers’ first three preseason games this year, totaling two points, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
