The Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz have held preliminary discussions on a trade centered on Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler and Jazz swingman Joe Johnson, according to a report from Michael Scotto of The Athletic.

Both the Nuggets and Jazz have been aggressive heading into Thursday's 3 p.m. EST trade deadline -- with Denver reportedly in play for Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart.

The Jazz have had several conversations involving Johnson, swingman Rodney Hood and forward Derrick Favors, according to multiple reports. (Favors is said to be high on the Cleveland Cavaliers' wish list.)

Chandler, 30, is averaging 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 48 games.

Johnson, 36, has reportedly made it known he is seeking a trade or buyout from the Jazz. He is averaging 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 31 games.
