Warriors' Curry expected to begin practicing next week

The Golden State Warriors provided an update on the status of two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Steph Curry on Saturday night and it's good news for two-time defending champs.
Curry has missed Golden State's last eight games because of a strained groin, with the Warriors going 3-5 in that stretch.
However, according to the team, Curry could be returning soon, perhaps during Golden State's upcoming five-game road trip, which will tip off Thursday night at Toronto.
Per the Warriors' official release:
“Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who has missed the last eight (8) games due to a strained left groin, was re-evaluated earlier today by the team’s medical staff. The evaluation indicated that he is making very good progress as a result of his rehabilitation program. He will begin to intensify his on-court workouts and, if he continues to progress at the level demonstrated in recent days, it is expected that Curry will begin to practice with the team next week, with the goal of playing at some point during the team’s upcoming five-game road trip.”
Curry is averaging 29.5 points, shooting 49.2 percent from deep, this season, to go with 5.0 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.0 steals, shooting 51.5 percent from the field overall.
With him on the court this season, Golden State has posted an offensive rating of 119.6 and outscored its opposition by 14.3 points per 100 possessions.
